Happy Endings by Harnois75 Happy Endings by Harnois75
A panel from the strip 'The Land of Happy Endings' that appeared in DWM in 2003 (the 40th anniversary)

Drawn by Martin Gerarghty in the style of Neville Main, coloured by me with real ink, no photoshop (purely old school to evoke the era).

Excellent work in the colour. Especially using real proper ink.

Excellent, even more amazing now, knowing that it was down old school with real inks and not just mocked up in photoshop.

I remember this well, and was blown away by it at the time. Ooh, that doesn't mean I'm not now, just that it's stuck in my memory. The art on the comic strip in the Mag gets a bit samey sometimes, and I wish they'd try a few more artists and styles every now and again

One of my favorite strips of #8's era. You guys did great work on that. :)

That strip was not only a pleasure to read but a pleasure to look at. Everyone involved should be extremely proud of themselves for the work they did on 'The Land of Happy Endings'.

I'm not saying that it is bad to color digitally, but I'm glad there are still people out there that understand the nostalgia and lengths that can be achieved by traditional inking.
