As someone who had a relation Killed flying these Aircraft THANK YOU.
i am looking for someone to do something like this for that relation who was Killed flying with 617 RAF Sqd on 12 Jan 1945 mid way through his second tour.
i don't have a lot of $, but i do have the markings of the Lanc he was Killed in as well as other details on other Aircraft he flew with either 617 or 57 RAF Sqd.

PLEASE contact me if you think you can help or are interested at all.
He was one of 7 that enlisted and served in the second war with either the RAAF/RAN/RAF by 1945 6 of them were dead.

Stephen.

12 January 1945 was 617 Sqns attack on the U-boat pens in Bergen, Norway. The story is covered in detail in several books on the subject. Which aircraft was your relative in?

sorry for being so slack mate was in Canada for a large chunk of last year researching my relations time there under the EATS(BCTAP).

been a busy start to the year this end too, anyway in answer to your question my relation was a Pilot F/O Ian Stewart Ross S/N 18839 RAAF.
His Lanc was the one in which the Aircrew were all killed after ditching safely at sea off Bergen.

let me know if you need more,
last year i finally tracked down a copy of his flying log book which everyone had given up as gone for good.

needles to say the research continues...

Lancasters are awesome, in Canada they still have some working. :D This is really beautiful, love the colour palette and especially the lighting! :D

Very nice- I thought it was a photo when I was looking at the thumbnail! Great effect with the sun (and so nice to see a cool sun effect that doesn't involve a lens flare).
